Dr Deborah Shepherd

After completing her BA in psychology, Deb gained an MA in psychology and management, followed by a PhD in management. Deb has worked as a researcher, consultant, facilitator and experiential trainer with a variety of companies – SMEs and large companies as well as not for profit organisations. She currently teaches in the areas or Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Professional Development at The University of Auckland Business School. Deb is a co-author of the book “Changing gears: How to take your kiwi business from the kitchen table to the board table.”

Dr Steve Merchant

Steve graduated with Distinction in his veterinary degree from Massey University and went into companion animal practice in Manukau, then mixed practice in Tauranga until he moved to the Papatoetoe East Veterinary Centre. Currently Steve is the CEO of the Pet Doctors Veterinary Group, the largest veterinary group in New Zealand, comprised of over 25 veterinary clinics throughout the country.

Dr Seton Butler

Seton completed a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine at Massey University in 1986, and started practice in Wellington. After opening his second clinic in 1999 he became a co-founder and Clinical Director of Pet Doctors in 2006. Today he remains a Director and dedicated shareholder in Pet Doctors and has recently returned to Wellington to explore a new stage of his career.

Dr David Barrowman

David graduated in 1984 from Massey University with a Veterinary degree. He went on to practice in New Zealand and England before setting up the first full time veterinary nursing programme in New Zealand in 1993. Up to 2004 he actively taught on this programme as well as developing other animal-related programmes. He has also been a director of an animal related marketing company from 1991-1994. He has been directly involved in a number of initiatives including the development of the Veterinary Specialist Group referral building in Mt Albert. David is currently working as a Veterinarian when not enjoying mountain biking in Rotorua.
